Solving the Last-mile Problem

Kiwibot is reimagining local delivery by introducing a network of delivery robots. On-demand delivery is set to skyrocket over the coming years, and the existing infrastructure in most big cities is simply not ready for this unprecedented growth. Already struggling with existential crises like rising emissions and congestion, cities are looking for creative and innovative ways to move things around. Restaurants are also looking for innovative solutions, as labor costs, exorbitant delivery app fees, and other last-mile complexities are making delivery incredibly costly. Surprisingly, most restaurants aren't making any money from it.

Kiwibot's robots, being size-appropriate, autonomous and electric, could be the perfect solution for both restaurants and cities. Their vision is to bring the cost of delivery down as low as possible, even to zero. They want to be part of the future, ensuring that any product we purchase can be delivered within an hour or less.

Kiwibot 4.0

"Kiwibot started with a very simple concept, just a box being remotely teleoperated to deliver at short distances.

With the second iteration, we assigned supervisors to the kiwibots at a high level of assistance. This ensured a safer and faster operation. However, for the Kiwibot 3.0 series, we introduced partial automation, specifically, we improved the perception.

With our new 4.0 series, we have applied our experience from the previous iterations and have developed a semi-autonomous driving system, allowing for new ways to interact with the world and the user. We are excited to introduce the world to our semi-autonomous Kiwibots and pave the way for the technological innovation of the future."

Kiwibot has a bold vision for the future. They envision their robots serving as nodes within cities, essentially becoming networks enabling the transfer of goods in a similar fashion to the way the internet transfers data. They believe cheap delivery is a fundamental right, and as our demand for the immediate delivery of food and goods increases, so will their presence across our cities. Imagine a future where you can order pretty much anything through an app, and have dropped off at your desk within minutes. This is the future Kiwibot is enabling. While they got their start on the Berkeley campus, at their core, Kiwibot is a Latin American company. They currently have their HQ in Medellín, and also recently opened up offices in Los Angeles, Miami and other cities in the United States.
